Miss Tanakpur Haazir Ho released today in India but reportedly this rural area political drama not be screened in some areas of Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh, as a Khap Panchayat has warned exhibitors against screening Vinod Kapri’s directorial venture.
Miss Tanakpur is a social satire on the state of judiciary in India. The threat has scared the exhibitors, who are not planning to screen the film in theaters in Muzaffarnagar.
Initially Miss Tanakpur director Vinod Kapri planned to be release it with last week released Bollywood hit dance movie ABD 2 (Any Body Can Dance 2). But director did not want to be clash it with ABCD 2, thus he postponed Miss Tanakpur.
This week Miss Tanakpur Haazir Ho is the only film which is hitting the theater with big stars; two other movie- Uvaa and Bezubaan Ishq are released with Miss Tanakpur Hazir Ho too.
Uvaa features with veteran actors like Om Puri and Sanjay Mishra , Jimmy Sheirgill , Sangram Singh and Archana Puran Singh. Uvaa is a low budget film that is about five friends in a boarding school and their daily life suddenly turning into a rebellion to fight for justice and make an example to the outside world, while Bezubaan Ishq is a beautiful love triangle, romantic and a musical drama movie. It is spiced with breathtaking cinematography and heart touching lyrical love songs.
Director Vinod Kapri is very hopeful about his film Miss Tanakpur Haazir Ho. He says that the film is a social satire inspired from real life events.
Miss Tanakpur director Vinod Kapri talked about his film, “This is a social satire which is entirely inspired by a real life incident which happened in Rajasthan. So, I personally went to that village, investigated the whole story and met village panchayat, pradhan, police officers, judges, lawyers and I found it so interesting that I could make an interesting satire.”
Miss Tankapur Hazir Ho lead actor, Annu Kapoor, spoke about his role on the recent controversy surrounding the film with a Khap Panchayat and said, “I think they should have a look at the movie at a very wider perspective. This is not the first time when a local panchayat (khap) has passed this kind of diktat and it’s not a good sign when you have this kind of parallel governing bodies”.
“We claim to be the largest democracy on papers so we Indian’s will have to prove that our democracy is one of the finest in the world and is not a banana republic. Why and How? We have to make sure that these parallel running govt. bodies are not allowed this kind of powers”, Annu Said.
This is important for actor Om Puri because today his two films are released together Miss Tanakpur Hazir Ho and Uvaa. In Miss Tanakpur Hazir Ho Om plays an important role while in Uvaa he is in supporting role.
Miss Tanakpur Haazir Ho film is about a man who is falsely accused by a village strongman that he has raped a buffalo. The powerful man of the village also gets the Khap panchayat to pass a verdict that he has to marry the victim; the buffalo called Miss Tanakpur.
According to the experts the film Miss Tanakpur Hazir Ho is likely to do better as compared to the other two hitting the theatres. Although, Miss Tanakpur Haazir Ho film is successful to attract its audience but still ABCD 2 on silver screen so it impact on box office collection of Miss Tanakpur Hazir Ho.
As per the audience Miss Tanakpur Haazir ho is full time pass movie that arising some social issues and orthodox. The level of entertainment, story and acting of all stars is very good that may attract the audience in upcoming days. Still many people don’t want to watch this because very few people like this type of comedy drama.
