Indian Former President APJ Abdul Kalam Passed away on Monday evening after he collapsed during a lecture in Shillong. He is a popular Indian President between 2002 and 2007, as well as a great scientist of India.
Avul Pakir Jainulabdeen Abdul Kalam was 84-years-old, took ill at a function in Shillong and was rushed to the hospital, M Kharkrang, SP Khasi Hills, said.
Indian former President collapsed during a lecture at the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) in Shillong at around 6.30 pm and was taken to the hospital.

According to the TV reports said earlier that, “Kalam suffered a massive cardiac arrest at the function at IIM Shillong”.
Immediately he had been admitted to the ICU at the nearest Bethany Hospital in Shillong.
Director of Bethany Hospital Mr. John Sailo Ryntathiang said to IANS, “The former president was brought almost dead to our hospital. He is in a critical condition. We are trying to revive the patient”.
“He is in the Intensive Care Unit. We are examining him. We suspect that it could be cardiac arrest,” Sailo said.
Meghalaya Governor V Shanmughanathan and Chief Secretary PBO Warjri visited Bethany hospital where Kalam has been admitted.
Monday early morning Kalam had tweeted about his function at IIM Shillong;
“Going to Shillong.. to take course on Livable Planet earth at iim. With @srijanpalsingh and Sharma”.
Kalam was awarded the nation’s top civilian awards, including Padma Vibhushan, Padma Bhushan and Bharat Ratna.
This famous personality spent more than four decades as a scientist and science administrator, at the Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) and Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO).
Kalam was the Chief Scientific Advisor to the Prime and the Secretary of the DRDO from 1992 to 199. The Pokhran II nuclear tests were conducted during this period.
He also wrote 14 books on various topics including India 2020, Wings of Fire and Ignited Minds.
