According to India Today report, in November last year, the Food and Drugs Administration (FDA) had collected some samples (medicines, tinctures and Dettol soap) from Agra, which were found to be doubtful. These all samples were then sent for a lab test in Lucknow.

Recently, two highly daily used products failed to their purity. Two samples of milk produced by Mother Dairy were found to be substandard, and one of them contained detergent which is very harmful for health.

The samples were sent to the Lucknow laboratory for test, which declared them substandard. The company challenged the results and demanded the samples be sent to the Kolkata lab, which too found them defective. In fact, “The Kolkata lab found one sample contained detergent,” Ram Naresh Yadav, chief of the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) had said.

“The wrapper of the sample of Dettol soap collected by us form Agra mentioned its weight to be 125gm,” said RC Yadav Agra drug inspector.

He added “After measure the soap the, the actual weight of that Dettol Soap in our tests was 117.0470gms”.

“Besides, it was bought from the shop of one Santosh Kumar Valmiki who was found to be running the shop without a license.

“The sample of the soap was found to be sub-standard and also failed our standard laboratory tests.”

” Dettol Soap is 100 % and it’s follows all the standards, The weight of the soap may reduces due to the moisture” according to the official mail send by PRO of RB India.
