New Delhi: In line with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s “Digital India” programme, the government has launched a digital employment exchange program on Monday, June 15th, 2015, that will enable industrial enterprises to find eligible candidates, job suitable workers and job-seekers to find employment.
The government begin this program is aimed at strengthening communication between stakeholders and improving efficiency in service delivery in the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSME) ministry.
The main aim of Modi government behind launch of this online employment portal to employment exchange for industries creating common digital platform job seekers and the employers.
“More than 35% of the Indian population is under 35-age group. Keeping this mark in mind by Modi government, the prime minister worked towards converting India into a manufacturing hub. This will be the one feet ahead of Modi government to fulfill the dream of “Make In India”.
This online employment portal will develop a common platform among industries and job seekers. As well as it will beneficial for develop an entrepreneurship and will provide employment to the youth as well,” said Kalraj Mishra, Union minister for MSMEs, while launching the service at an event held by the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), an industry lobby group.
FICCI president Sanjay Bhatia said the biggest problem faced by MSMEs is training employees. Small enterprises are not willing to invest in employees given that many leave for better positions in large organizations. Most of the MSMEs industries also do not have budgets for providing training for fresher employees.
According to Amarendra Sinha, additional secretary and development commissioner at the MSMEs ministry, more than 200,000 people have so far registered on the website.
The portal will be accessible free of cost for the next one month, for both employers and job-seekers.
